PSU Upgrades

The original Pink Triangle DaCapo DAC had the option of a battery power supply which was a massive improvement from the in-built mains supply. But even this had it’s flaws. The internal resistance of the batteries, combined with low immunity to external noise made the unit a tricky beast to get right. And frankly most of the batter supply units built by Pink Triangle have long since expired, leaving most people with a DAC that performs well below it’s potential.

We built a new power supply unit, capable of supplying the demanding Pink Triangle analogue stages with precision, ultra low noise and excellent frequency response, equaling or surpassing the original battery units in almost every way.

The Power supply features two separate mains transformers and associated regulator boards providing a total of 4 power supplies to the DaCapo, supplied through twin 5-pin XLR connectors. The power supplies pass through custom-designed noise filters to eliminate any unwanted external noise before going in to yet another stage of high quality linear regulators housed within the DaCapo unit itself.

The result? Crystal clear audio which sounds incredible!
