I love HiFi and I’ve listened to many amps and CD players over the years, but I kept coming back to the same piece of kit – the Pink Triangle DaCapo DAC. It just sounds better! Whereas many DACs, Streamers and CD Players that I’ve heard may be incredibly detailed and accurate, they can sound rather clinical.
This is a trend that if anything gets worse with modern high-speed DACs. They are optimised for high speed data inputs all the way up to 384kHz source material. But in reality, the vast majority of available music was only recorded in 44.1kHz (i.e. CD format). So we’ve built the APEX DAC to perform at its very best on this type of material. Sure it’s internally capable of much higher sample rates, but we concentrated on making it sound truly awesome with the music that we actually own! The result is a DAC that sounds warm and analogue yet somehow retains all of the detail and depth that I just love to submerge myself into.
The DAC comes in several versions from our entry-level USB only DAC through to the top-of-the-range streaming DAC. All versions come with USB input as standard which is electrically isolated from the DAC, reducing noise breakthrough from noise digital equipment and sources. You can also buy out optional add-on power supplies to upgrade your DAC at a later date. Take a look below for the full range.

APEX USB DAC
APEX USB DAC
This DAC features our unique discrete single-bit D-to-A converter and a low jitter (<1ps) clock source. Internally, we use separate regulators for analogue and digital stages to minimise noise and maximise detail and clarity. It gives excellent performance, sounding sweet and musical yet detailed.
Single USB Input only, and stereo RCA (Phono) Output. Can be upgraded at a later date by adding the dedicated APEX Power Supply.

Available in brushed aluminium finish or natural wood (see images of our other products for examples)
We’ve taken the already great USB DAC and added multiple independent dual-regulated power supplies and even lower jitter (<0.05ps) crystal oscillators to minimise distortion.
Final DAC stage and low jitter clock is optically isolated from the inputs and digital filter circuitry, eliminating digital noise where it matters.
We have also included space for up to three additional inputs for extra flexibility – choose from Switchable BNC / TosLink, ClockLocked, USB or Bluetooth. You will get one card of your choosing. More inputs can be added at a later date if you need them.
Fitted as standard with both RCA and balanced XLR outputs.
The DAC can be further improved at a later date by adding the APEX PSU, or go for the top of the line Super-PSU for ultimate performance!
Streaming DAC
APEX Streaming DAC
This is the same APEX top-of-the-line DAC, but we’ve added a customer configurable streamer.
Shipped by default with Moode Audio’s incredible streaming software, you can simply swap out the SD card to use your streamer of choice such as Volumio, Squeezebox Lite and others.
The streamer uses the internal ultra-low-jitter clock fed to it from the heart of the DAC to ensure you get the best possible sound quality from this incredible combination. We even optically isolate the digital signals internally to stop noise from network cabling from entering your system.
APEX PSU
APEX PSU
This is a high-quality external PSU that can be added to either the APEX USB DAC or the top-of-the-range Multi-Channel DAC.
Enclosed in matching casework to the APEX USB DAC, it powers the all-important analogue filter circuitry providing a significant step-up in performance over the stand-alone DAC.

This is our top-of-the-line external PSU featuring no fewer than seven power supply channels. Add this to the top-of-the-range Multi-Channel DAC to independently power L and R analogue filter circuitry, L and R single-bit DAC modules and digital filter stages all independently. No-compromise performance!
Available in wooden fronted finish as pictured, or with a plain brushed aluminium finish as per the APEX Multi-Input DAC.
