USB Input for CD Players including Naim, Arcam

CD Player USB Input

Turn your High-End CD Player into a USB DAC

Lots of CD Players have digital outputs, but a vanishingly small number have digital inputs. This means if you want to use streaming services, you need to buy a completely new DAC or streamer leaving your valuable CD player, and its carefully constructed DAC, sitting idle!

We’ve designed a USB input card that can be fitted to many CD players including Arcam, Naim CDS3, Naim CD555 and many others. It’s shown here fitted to an Arcam CD23.

The USB input works with Windows, MacOS and Linux devices including many streamers such as Moode Audio. It locks to the internal clock in your CD player giving the same excellent sound quality you’re used to from playing CDs. Push play on the CD and the DAC automatically switches back to CD ignoring the USB input.

It is configurable for CD players with most common internal data formats. It accepts 44.1kHz 16 bit input only due to limitations of CD player clocks and DACs.

This mod required significant electronics expertise to fit and configure. Send us your CD player and we will fit the mod for you and send back, usually withing 2 weeks.

Take the chance - you won't be disappointed!
