APEX USB Interface

USB to SPDIF Interface, Clock-Locked to your DAC

USB to SPDIF Interface

Connect your DAC to virtually any streamer

There are lots of USB to SPDIF interfaces on the market, so why choose APEX? We offer both BNC and TosLink Optical outputs, but so do many others!

Firstly, we have designed our interface to use the best quality low-jitter crystals, supplied from their own dedicated ultra-low noise power supply IC to give the best possible timing for your sensitive digital signals.

Secondly, to avoid any interference and noise from your streamer getting into your sensitive DAC, we have used Analog Devices innovative digital isolators on the USB interface so there is NO direct electrical connection at all between the USB connection and the BNC connections, allowing you to use them without fear of added noise.

Thirdly, and perhaps most importantly, we have built our interface to accept a clock input from your DAC (if available). This allows you to “clock-lock” your streaming source to the DAC and make best use of the DACs internal clock rather than trying to regenerate it from the digital input signal. This feature is available in a number of high-spec DACs from Pink Triangle, DPA (Deltec), Cambridge Audio, Wadia, Weiss, dCS Rossini APEX and others.

We’ve even built in a whole selection of DIP switch settings so you can select what input frequency the unit accepts. Various options are available including Word Clock (44.1kHz, 48kHz and higher frequencies), and Master Clock in the 2.8 to 45 MHz range (64fs, 128fs, 256fs, 384fs and others). Just ask!

Take the chance - you won't be disappointed!
