DPA DAC are great designs, especially when coupled with a Deltran capable transport to make use of their two-fibre clock locking capability. Unfortunately they are slightly let down by the poor quality crystals used internally. These introduce timing jitter which is particularly damaging in single-bit “bitstream” DACs like these.
With this mod, you can replace the factory fitted crystal with a low jitter device, with its own onboard ultra low noise power regulator, to transform the sound of your DAC. Tested with the DPA Bigger Bit, and the PDM1 shown above, this will significantly improve most vintage DPA DACs.

How does this work?
Once you have purchased this item, I will supply you with an address. It’s your responsibility to package up your DaCapo and send it to me by an insured and tracked postal service. I will then fit the clock unit and test that all is fully working to spec.
